Mine on Monday ~ What Have I Been Up Too? ~ Denver, Colorado Family Photographer

· June 18, 2012 · 6:09 pm · Just for Fun, Personal, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Why so glad you asked! Actually, I’ve been up to a lot and life has been nothing short of being crazy, busy, awesome, fun and full of laughter. Right now my life is headed in a direction I’ve been wanting for awhile. I won’t dive into details, but let’s just say life is good πŸ™‚ I’m so excited and blessed to see what the coming months being for me.

So one of the (many) projects that I’ve been working on is replacing this gross (I really mean gross too!) green carpet that is in our playroom. The carpet came with the house when we bought it and has been a problem area since day one. This is not because I hate the carpet color (ok, it had a lot to do with it) but my cat was constantly urinating on it. I assume it had something to do with the pet’s that were there before we moved in, but nevertheless we could never get the smell to come out after he peed πŸ™ Sad, yes, but it made my getting something new in there happen much faster! Woot!

So we journeyed out to find hardwood floors for the new area. I’m not sure what were thinking, perhaps excitement got the best of us, because after we bought the supplies, got home, unloaded and attempted to put these floors in, we quickly realized we had NO idea what we were doing πŸ™‚ Ahhh the beauty of DIY’ers! Β After a few attempts of putting in, taking out, scratching our heads and having a beer the floor began to take shape. The site supervisor was in charge most of the time, though I think she had much more fun playing around than supervising πŸ™‚

I should note, that we set thisΒ nastyΒ lovely piece of carpet outside after and listed on craigslist for free. Someone actually took it… God Bless Them!

No more carpet – YAY

First attempt at laying the floor…

We all wrote our names on the floor before covering it back up. Had to leave our mark somewhere πŸ™‚

Chillin after a hard days work…

Working in the dark + light = cool photo

Mackenzie 2012 High School Senior ~ Denver, Senior Photographer

· September 22, 2011 · 4:00 am · Senior, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Ohh how I love my seniors! Meet Mackenzie, my next 2012 high school senior!

I’m hoping to have many more seniors in the coming months. They are truly one of my favorite subjects to photograph and work with. Mostly because we usually end of laughing and having fun for 90% of the session. But also, seniors are always up for trying something new and exciting. They love all the new trends and come dressed to have fun, laugh and have show off their attitude and style!

High school seniors, if you are interested in working with The Vintage Cupcake Photography, send me a email or give me a call. I would love to chat and talk about how we can make your session AWESOME!

· June 29, 2011 · 3:07 pm · What to Wear, , , , ,

A well dressed family can really make a great photo session even that much better. However, when trying to coordinate your whole family in clothes that look great together, can be difficult. I ofter get asked, “what should I/my family wear for our session?” While I can give you ideas based on your style, I usually direct people to the terrific facebook page Wardrobe Wednesday which gives families a plethora of ideas on what they could wear for their session.

I hope you get many fabulous style ideas for your custom photo session, but above all, I want you to be “YOU” and feel comfortable. Don’t go for an outfit that is not you and will make you feel uncomfortable. I want you to enjoy your photos, and the more comfortable and self confident you are, it will show through in your photos!

Here are a few ideas from the contributors of the Wardrobe Wednesday! Enjoy!

Stunning Senior Session – Denver, CO High School Senior Portrait Photographer

· April 14, 2011 · 4:10 pm · Senior, , , , , , , , ,

β€œIt’s beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart.” – Oscar Wilde.

I thought this quote was perfect for my last senior session. Maddie, came to me looking for something fun, different, and beautiful. She had a vision for her session, and I was busting at the seams with excitement wanting to help her create that vision.

Maddie is graduating this year, but not before doing a her last senior project working with endangered sea turtles in Mexico. Her personality is contagious and fits her well.Β  Hence my quote above, Maddie’s personality, enthusiasm and easy going attitude made our senior photo session a absolute BLAST! Maddie I wish you best and am lucky to have shared a special time with you.

We put a lot of planning and thought into her session, starting with outfits, make-up, location, date and times. If you are a senior interested in customizing and creating your own senior photo session, please contact me soon so we can start planning πŸ˜‰

~ Welcome ~

I'm Angela and I love what I do.

I play many different roles in my life, but boring is not one of them. I'm silly, quarky, completly honest and try to live life to it's fullest. I put my heart and soul into photography and take great pride in my work and making sure my clients leave with beautiful works of art they can cherish forever.

I love natural light photography and love working outdoors, however, I have a dedicated studio with professional grade lighting, props and decors specifically for newborns and young children. I adore creating art with color and light. Client galleries are a variety of work tailored to their preferences and edited to my style.

This was just a little bit about me. I can't wait to meet you and I hope that viewing my work will bring each of you as many smiles as it has brought to me!

xoxo ~ Angela
