Who doesn’t love a different look to their own walls? I know I love seeing the creative things people do with their walls to make them unique, stylish and different! I am constantly amazed at what people come up. Here are few favorites for me this week. I especially love the polariod heart collage.

Mine on Monday ~ Denver, Colorado Child Photographer

· September 26, 2011 · 6:00 am · Children, Personal, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Last week was filled with pure craziness! I am hoping this weeks brings much needed non-stressful days. To say the least, it was filled with sickness and a hard drive failure….a photographer’s nightmare!

Sharing a picture I took over the weekend of my sweet Haylee girl. I love this picture for a few reasons. First, she is smiling πŸ˜‰ She never seems to want to smile once I get the camera out. So, this mama was very happy I finally capture a smile.Β  Second, because she is now mobile! Most people think I might be crazy. But we were ecstatic when she finally took her first steps by herself. Any parent can attest, that it’s the small things that your child does that makes them proudest.

Enjoy my lovelies, and have a wonderful start to your week.

Mackenzie 2012 High School Senior ~ Denver, Senior Photographer

· September 22, 2011 · 4:00 am · Senior, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Ohh how I love my seniors! Meet Mackenzie, my next 2012 high school senior!

I’m hoping to have many more seniors in the coming months. They are truly one of my favorite subjects to photograph and work with. Mostly because we usually end of laughing and having fun for 90% of the session. But also, seniors are always up for trying something new and exciting. They love all the new trends and come dressed to have fun, laugh and have show off their attitude and style!

High school seniors, if you are interested in working with The Vintage Cupcake Photography, send me a email or give me a call. I would love to chat and talk about how we can make your session AWESOME!

Real-life Inspiration for your Wall Gallery – Size it Up – Denver, CO Family Photographer

· September 21, 2011 · 4:26 pm · Boutique Products, Colorado Wall Gallery, Custom Framing, Wall Gallery, , , , ,

Thought I would share this picture depicting the difference in sizing of frames. Below are two frames a 8×10 and 24×36.Β  Many times, people buy a 8×10 to hang on their wall to display. I don’t think this is wrong, however, the photo should be placed in a location that fit’s a 8×10 perfectly. You can see in the photo below, if you were to place the 8×10 frame on the wall, it would look incredibly small and not make much a of statement. On the other hand, the 24×36 would stand out and make for a beautiful display.

Real-life Inspiration for your Wall Gallery – Decorating Mantles – Denver, CO Family Photographer

· September 14, 2011 · 6:00 am · Uncategorized

The thought of decorating my mantle sends chills up my spine. I don’t know why, but I can tell you I love my mantle, I have just always had issues decorating it. I’m never satisfied with the way it turns out. I feel it always needs something more, but can never pin point what that is. So today’s post showcases decorated mantles and since mantles tend to be the center point or gathering point in many homes, it’s important that it is decorated in a manner that brings it all together.

Here are a few of my favorite set-ups I have seen so far. Some are very simple, and some have a lot going on.

Real-life Inspiration for your Wall Gallery – Never a Dull Wall Again – Denver, CO Family Photographer

· September 7, 2011 · 10:11 pm · Boutique Products, Custom Framing, Wall Gallery, , , ,

Sorry I missed the last two wall gallery inspiration Wednesdays. Life has been busy and unfortunately this blog tends to take back burner.

Hope you all are having a great start to September. It has be absolutely beautiful here in Denver with 60-70 temps for the past two weeks! I am loving it! I love Summer, but my favorite time is Fall! It’s the time of year that makes me want to cozy up in a blanket, drink some hot cocoa, read a book, cook delicious smelling food, decorating for Halloween and Thanksgiving….ahhh I could go on.

During this time, I fully intend to revamp a few of my newly painted walls and add some beautiful photos of my daughter and family to them. Here are a few inspiration photos that I like and most likely will incorporate into my decorating.

How cute this round mirror nestled around all those frames!

Announcement: NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer ~ Denver, CO Newborn Photographer

· September 5, 2011 · 3:20 pm · Personal,

I am humbly blessed to be able to share with you some news! I received a call last week from the NILMDTS Foundation (Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep) letting me know my application had been reviewed and was accepted. Donating my time and talent is important for me in giving back to the community. I can’t say enough how honored I am to be chosen, as 95% of the applications to NILMDTS are usually not accepted. Read below and get to know a little about the Foundation.

“The NILMDTS Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.Β  The NILMDTS mission statement is to introduce remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby with the gift of professional portraiture.Β  We believe these images serve as an important step in the family’s healing process by honoring their child’s legacy.

The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) administers a network of more than 7,000 volunteer photographers in the United States and 25 countries. At a family’s request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to your hospital or hospice location and conduct a sensitive and private portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished baby.”

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is a national, 501(c)(3) not for profit voluntary organization dedicated to providing parents and families, that are suffering an early infant loss, with the gift of portraiture and DVD recordings.

Funding from individuals and corporations has enabled NILMDTS to provide parents and families with heirloom memories of their baby. When birth and death do coincide, this is the only opportunity to substantiate the importance of this baby’s life. We also strive to bring awareness and public education to the healing effects of bereavement photography.

All monies donated to NILMDTS goes directly into supporting this organization and the maintenance of our web sites. Please know that other than the 5-person headquarters staff, not one single person is paid for their time or services. The Photographers that are affiliated with NILMDTS share their talents with the families through the generosity of their hearts. They receive no compensation from NILMDTS, nor from the families with whom they share their gifts.

~ Welcome ~

I'm Angela and I love what I do.

I play many different roles in my life, but boring is not one of them. I'm silly, quarky, completly honest and try to live life to it's fullest. I put my heart and soul into photography and take great pride in my work and making sure my clients leave with beautiful works of art they can cherish forever.

I love natural light photography and love working outdoors, however, I have a dedicated studio with professional grade lighting, props and decors specifically for newborns and young children. I adore creating art with color and light. Client galleries are a variety of work tailored to their preferences and edited to my style.

This was just a little bit about me. I can't wait to meet you and I hope that viewing my work will bring each of you as many smiles as it has brought to me!

xoxo ~ Angela
