Yes I am a Momtographer – Denver, CO Child Photographer

· August 27, 2011 · 9:49 pm · Personal, , ,

I often get the question from people and clients that I must have the most beautiful photos of my daughter. The truth is, there are so many times, I get home, put the camera down, pick up my daughter and spend snuggly time with her. And when were ready to play and have fun, I whip out the camera (but not all the time) and start taking pictures. I don’t think about the picture, I don’t think about what she is doing, I just snap pictures….and I enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚

So why this post? Because I too, just like any mom, just love to take photos of my daughter. They aren’t perfect, but I don’t want them to be. I just want them to be her and memories she can look back on in years to come. So here are my momtographer skills at work. Just being a mom and taking photos…

Haylee still hasn’t figured out how walk by herself. She knows how to walk and will walk as long as she has something in her hand, or something to hold onto. However, the minute you let go, she sits. The walker you see, she loves. I mean she loves it too. She runs circles in the house with this thing, chases the dogs, rams into walls and plunges at the cats, whom run at the first sight of her and the stroller together. For all you animal lovers out there, I promise no animals are hurt during the walker runs.

“Families are like fudge… mostly sweet with a few nuts.”
— Author Unknown

Where to begin? I was one lucky girl to be able to hang out with the “G” family. They were my second family I hung with during my trip to see my parents this summer. First, I have to tell you about the awesome ocean view they have from their house! Looking out from their gallery size front windows, it was like you were right there on the ocean. Their view is stunning and the beach is a two second walk form their house.

To sum up the “G” family, I guess I would say – Perfect house. Perfect location. Perfect Family = Perfect pictures! Nothing is perfectly, perfect and I know that. But when the stars align and everything goes so wonderfully for a family photo session, that to me is perfection!

So my lovelies, I give you a perfectly, perfect family that is full of love, joy and togetherness. And yes, she has four kids and still looks that great!

Happy Friday!

Whew…this week has been filled with up’s and down’s and in-between’s. I am so ready for the weekend! I have a few sessions scheduled, but I am looking forward to a nice BBQ with friends on Saturday and hanging out with my family the rest of the time.

Speaking of the weekend coming up, I can’t believe we are in the middle of August already! Where did the summer go? Did it even happen? And where was I? In all honesty, I am ready for fall. It’s my favorite season of the year with the changing colors of the city, fun holidays and with it comes much cooler weather. I am so ready, I already have an inspiration board on pinterest dedicated to Fall!

Fall also means a very busy time for portrait photographers such as myself. Most people look at this time of year to get family portrait done for Christmas cards and presents. Please keep in mind I am already booking into October for sessions, so if you are looking at getting a session set up, please do so as early as possible. This insures you still get your photos done during the prime time of fall colors.

Enough with the boring business, let’s see this sweet little angel’s photos.

4 days new and absolutely beautiful!

Neglect party and baking trials and tribulations – Denver, CO Portrait Photographer

· August 8, 2011 · 7:34 pm · Just for Fun, Personal, , , , , , , , , , , ,

I don’t claim to be a great cook. I enjoy the art of cooking and baking. Somehow my recipes don’t quite come out the way I intended them to be. Nuff said.

So what is a neglect party you ask? I didn’t know what one was either until my boss hosted one at his house. In a nut shell, you must bring a dish to the party that was made with something that has been neglected in your kitchen. This can be from a appliance to a small kitchen gadget. Mine? A cookie press from pampered chef the hubs bought for me one three years ago, that was still in the original wrapping. It didn’t take me long to figure out what my neglected item was, as this cookie press stares me right in the face every time I open one of my cupboards, and every time I happily bypass the press grabbing other items with much more importance.

In deciding to finally break out my mad baking skills, I thought it was time that Haylee join in and start learning. Sigh. In my mind I picture her becoming the next top chef, and thinking to herself…it all started when my mother taught me how to bake cookies at the ripe age of 18 months. Silly? I know, but a mother can dream can’t she?

So here we are. Haylee and I. In the kitchen. Attempting to bake.

My favorite part of baking cookies…eating the leftover dough! Yum!

The cookie press worked great and pumped out some pretty cool looking cookies. However, in the end my funfetti cookies turned out to be a flop, just like my banana bread did.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

~ Welcome ~

I'm Angela and I love what I do.

I play many different roles in my life, but boring is not one of them. I'm silly, quarky, completly honest and try to live life to it's fullest. I put my heart and soul into photography and take great pride in my work and making sure my clients leave with beautiful works of art they can cherish forever.

I love natural light photography and love working outdoors, however, I have a dedicated studio with professional grade lighting, props and decors specifically for newborns and young children. I adore creating art with color and light. Client galleries are a variety of work tailored to their preferences and edited to my style.

This was just a little bit about me. I can't wait to meet you and I hope that viewing my work will bring each of you as many smiles as it has brought to me!

xoxo ~ Angela
