Announcement – NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers) – Denver Portrait Photographer

· April 23, 2011 · 2:48 am · Uncategorized, , , , , , ,

I am busting at the seams to share this with you all! I just received notification that I  have been accepted as a member of the NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers). The NAPCP’s mission is “to promote and support the industry, artistry and integrity of the professional child photographer.  Their goal is to make NAPCP a hallmark of professional child photography, so when people see the NAPCP seal they will know it represents artistry, honesty and professionalism.”

This membership is a stepping stone for me in distinguishing myself from other photographers and establishing myself as TRUE professional. I look forward to the learning a lot from this wonderful community of creative professionals and taking business to the next level through inspiration from them.

Oh Sweet Baby Fever - Denver Newborn Portrait Photographer -The Vintage Cupcake Photography

· April 21, 2011 · 7:17 pm · Children, Families, Newborn, , , , , , , , , , ,

I love babies! And now that mine is getting older, (she’s already 14 months old!!) I tend to get the baby fever craze every time I am around these sweet angels.

This sweet girl was such a trooper for most of her session; she slept, peeked out at us every now and then to make sure mamma didn’t leave and then slept some more. What more could I ask for? She didn’t mind once that we moved her, positioned her, moved her again and repositioned her several times to get the perfect poses.

Real-life Inspiration for your Wall Gallery – Let Your Creativity Flow – Denver, Colorado Photographer

· April 20, 2011 · 4:36 pm · Boutique Products, Colorado Wall Gallery, Custom Framing

And were back with another edition of wall inspiration for your own home. This weeks inspiration comes from within my inner creative side (and others) of course. Since these are not my own ideas, but others; I can gather inspiration from them and design my own wall art gallery. You will find this weeks inspiration to be creative and fun.  So what are we waiting for, let’s see….

I love this first image, as it’s so simple and elegant. I would have never thought about hanging a photo in a window. It would have to be done just right like this picture though.

Another creative idea to display your photos.

How awesome is this? A whole wall plastered with one image! I love the feel this black and white photo brings to the room. This would be awesome in a loft or a open, well lit space.

This display is great for your kiddos to hang their own art on as well 🙂

Stunning Senior Session – Denver, CO High School Senior Portrait Photographer

· April 14, 2011 · 4:10 pm · Senior, , , , , , , , ,

“It’s beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart.” – Oscar Wilde.

I thought this quote was perfect for my last senior session. Maddie, came to me looking for something fun, different, and beautiful. She had a vision for her session, and I was busting at the seams with excitement wanting to help her create that vision.

Maddie is graduating this year, but not before doing a her last senior project working with endangered sea turtles in Mexico. Her personality is contagious and fits her well.  Hence my quote above, Maddie’s personality, enthusiasm and easy going attitude made our senior photo session a absolute BLAST! Maddie I wish you best and am lucky to have shared a special time with you.

We put a lot of planning and thought into her session, starting with outfits, make-up, location, date and times. If you are a senior interested in customizing and creating your own senior photo session, please contact me soon so we can start planning 😉

Real-life Inspiration for your Wall Gallery – Bigger is Better – Denver, Colorado Photographer

· April 14, 2011 · 2:57 pm · Boutique Products, Colorado Wall Gallery, Just for Fun, ,

Yes, I said it! Bigger is better! I think we all may be a bit hesitant to do larger photo displays in house, for fear that it might be too big, or look out of place. I am here to tell you, that with a careful layout and thoughtful taste from a good friend or even better a interior designer, you too can have a rockin wall gallery that is sure to wow all your friends and family.

Next week, I will be giving more in-depth “how to” instructions on designing and hanging your displays. This will be a two part series that you will give you the knowledge and basic guidance for you to design your own fabulous wall!

For now, I give you some inspiration on large wall displays.

Sweet Innocence – Denver Family Photographer – What to Wear

· April 14, 2011 · 2:42 am · Boutique Products, Just for Fun, What to Wear, , , , , , , ,

Love, love, love Matilda Jane Clothing and all their fabulously creative, stylish and truly adorable clothes. I wish I could afford each and every piece, so that I could outfit lil’ miss Haylee in them everyday 😉 But I digress…

So who and what is Matilda Jane? Here is an excerpt from their website, “I wish I had a great story, but I really don’t. It is quite simple actually. One day a friend of mine said I should make clothing so I did. I’m a bit of a risk taker. Afterall, what is the worst thing that could happen?

I wish I could say I started because I could not find any cute clothes for my kids, but surely that is not a problem. The world is filled with talented designers. Afterall, someone has to dress my two darling boys ‘cuz Matilda Jane isn’t looking good on boys lately!! I wish I could say I am a “designer.” I pretty much consider myself just a girl who can’t stop her brain from spinning. It is crazy. I just get an idea and go with it. Inspiration? I am not sure, it just happens. You know, wake up in the middle of the night and “Whoa, I have a great idea!” It just happens.”

If you are interested in doing a few mini sessions with Matilda Jane clothing, feel free to contact me. I think we could have a lot of fun and create some beautiful images in these clothes, especially since summer is just around the bend, now is your time to do so summer shopping!

Real-life Inspiration for your Wall Gallery – Sophistication at the least – Denver, Colorado Photographer

· April 6, 2011 · 2:45 pm · Boutique Products, Colorado Wall Gallery

Happy hump day! Hope your week is going splended!  It’s been a busy week for me, last night I spend a few hours a the Cherry Creek Divas Networking event exclusively for brave, bold, fantastic women at Brio Tuscan Grille.  Each event continues to get better and better. There are so many fantastic women with awesome ideas; I always walk away amazed. I will have a post later this week with pictures and more detail about these great events!

Let’s move on shall we!

Today’s wall gallery inspiration comes from three of my favorite places! First, I must admit that I have a deep love for anything turqouise. If everything in my house could be faceted from shades of turqouise, I would never leave my house…NEVER! I am not sure where this fascination came from, the only thing I can tell you is that I have tried to navigate away and expand my color choices, but I am continually drawn back to that color! So you can see why I absolutely adore this first photo.

And this, because I am always a sucker for shabby chic design, even though I have never had the guts to actually decorate my house in it.

Movement Photography – Colorado Photographer

· April 3, 2011 · 9:50 pm · Just for Fun, Uncategorized

Hhmm, so yesterday it was a beautiful 83 degrees out, the sun was shining and spring was in the air. Today, it’s 32 and snowing…I’m having to break out the coat again and turn on the heat…phewy with Colorado weather. And so the old saying goes for Colorado, “you never know what the weather will be like 15 minutes from now”. Well said!

Since I am stuck inside for the day, I thought I would share some fun photos with you today. Last year I did a motion workshop, to learn more about lighting and capturing motion with lighting. The workshop was awesome, on top of that we had some talented models helping us out. These photos aren’t perfect, there are several issues with them, my intent for this workshop was purely for learning, so please keep this in mind as you view the pictures. Here are a few of the photos I captured.

~ Welcome ~

I'm Angela and I love what I do.

I play many different roles in my life, but boring is not one of them. I'm silly, quarky, completly honest and try to live life to it's fullest. I put my heart and soul into photography and take great pride in my work and making sure my clients leave with beautiful works of art they can cherish forever.

I love natural light photography and love working outdoors, however, I have a dedicated studio with professional grade lighting, props and decors specifically for newborns and young children. I adore creating art with color and light. Client galleries are a variety of work tailored to their preferences and edited to my style.

This was just a little bit about me. I can't wait to meet you and I hope that viewing my work will bring each of you as many smiles as it has brought to me!

xoxo ~ Angela
