Real-life Inspiration for your Wall Gallery – Colorado Boutique Products

· March 31, 2011 · 5:15 pm · Boutique Products, Colorado Wall Gallery, Custom Framing

Sometimes deciding where to display your photographs and family heirlooms can be the most difficult decision in the process of family photography. There are all sorts of questions we ask ourselves in deciding what photographs we want, and the placement of each of them. While I still haven’t mastered the art of decorating, I sure have learned a lot from various sources. One of them being my Uncle, whom declares himself a master home interior decorator. You can usually find him carrying around the latest edition of House Beautiful or Country Living just to name a few. When ever he is over, he always provides his thoughts on my style. Whether it be welcoming ideas or not, I usually take his advice and it turns out looking great!

Because I know I’m not the only one is this boat,  I am sharing some inspirational photos for you. My hopes are to share inspirational photos with you weekly 🙂 However, we know how one week can slip by to the next. If you have photos you would like me to share, please send them to me and I will post them, of course giving you credit for such great ideas!

Have you ever seen such beautiful blue eyes like these? Baby H has been blessed with these pretty blue eyes,  every time you look into her eyes you just melt. I had the pleasure of photographing the “H” family a short while ago. We hung at out a local park with three of them and their two dogs.

Here is the “H” family sneak peak:

The good, the bad and the ADORABLE! – Denver, CO – Cake Smash Photography

· March 24, 2011 · 8:05 pm · Cake Smash, Children, Uncategorized

I guess I will start out with the bad first, just to get it out of the way! We didn’t get the house we wanted 🙁 The bank chose the other offer instead…  The good? We have found something else, we love, love, love so much better! It sits right across from a park and best part…it comes with a mini matching playhouse in the backyard for Haylee! Seriously, I LUURRVVEEE this house and hope to hear soon from the owners! Don’t worry, I will keep you posted.

So you want the adorable now? This is what you get with cake + baby = absolute adorableness!

You may have seen this adorable sweetie before in another post I did with her and her family. Her Mama graciously allowed me to do this session in her house. Which by the way, stayed relatively clean, compared to what I thought was going to happen! Sweet little “C” was not too sure about this cake and what to do with it. She was so dainty when touching the cake that her mom finally had to show her how to really smash a cake!

I had such a great time at this session and can’t wait to do another one!

Kristie Maternity Session – Denver, CO Maternity Photographer

· March 21, 2011 · 11:36 pm · Families, Maternity

Happy Monday! Hope everyone’s week is starting off in the right direction.

A few requests:

I am looking for a vintage bike, preferably a girls bike. Color isn’t so much important to me as it being vintage. However, the more color the better in my book. If you know someone that would be interested in letting me borrow it for a few hours, have them contact me. I need it for session coming up in April.

I am looking for some expecting mama’s who are around 30 weeks. I need to update/add to my maternity portfolio. I will give them a good discount as well.

I bring to you today, Kristie. Isn’t she beautiful? She is due in just a few short weeks with a sure to be beautiful baby boy. Guess who gets to do her newborn session? Mwah!

Kristie had originally contacted me to do newborn photos once her baby arrives. I begged asked her to let me do a maternity session! She finally agreed and I am so glad she did! Not only was her and her family picture perfect, she will have these pictures as memories forever. Thank you Kristie for taking the time to share you and your family with me…even if I did fall in the river twice (which is a story for another time)! Enjoy!

Matt and Stacey – Denver, CO Engagement Photographer

· March 18, 2011 · 6:43 pm · Engagement, Families

Happy Friday!

This is my second time writing this post! The first time, wordpress decided to erase my text as I inserted the photo below 🙁

It’s a beautiful day here in Denver. I am home today with my family posse’. I can’t wait for weekend! Miss Sassafras and I will be having a play date with a new friend and for the rest of the weekend we will be house hunting…again. Yesterday we made an offer on a house, however, about ten minutes before they received our offer another swooped in! If the offer doesn’t go through they will accept ours with no delay, otherwise the hunt continues. We’re not worried though, I know what is meant to be, will be 🙂

Today my lovelies, I bring you Matt and Stacey. Recently engaged they are planning a wedding late this summer in Philidelphia. Since their wedding will be in the city, they wanted their engagement photos to have a taste of Colorado. So we scouted out a few locations, and finally found the perfect one. The day was a bit chilly and was lacking some serious sun, however, Matt and Stacey were champs and posed to beautifully together, you wouldn’t even notice. Besides me making them hike around to find the perfect location which kept them moving, Stacey made the hike in heels! Yes, I said heels my friends…that takes stamina, stamina and skill!

Matt and Stacey, I hope your wedding is all that you want it to be! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and health. XOXO Angela

2011 Mommy and Me mini sessions – Denver, CO Family Photography

· March 17, 2011 · 11:42 pm · Uncategorized

Whoa! Two posts in one day? I know, I am on a roll and can’t stop! This is a good thing, I promise 🙂

This year, I am offering Mommy and Me mini portrait sessions. This is a time to celebrate Mom and the bond that is so very special between mother and child. Being so close to my Mom, I know how important it is to capture those sweet moments just between us. And now that I am a mom, I am always struggling to get a picture of us together. Especially since I am the usually behind the camera.

Sessions will last for 30 minutes. Time slots are on first come, first serve basis. Session fee is due upon booking appointment and will secure your session time.

The "B" Family and some serious cathing up to do – Denver, CO Family Photographer

· March 17, 2011 · 5:35 pm · Children, Families

Hi! Remember me? I know, I know it’s been a seriously long time. Truthfully, my strongest skill is not in writing. I have never been one of those people that could sit down and just write. Don’t get me wrong, I wish I was. Before my daughter was born, I thought I would give the whole writing thing a try again. So I bought a journal in hopes that I could document my pregnancy and my daughters first year of life through weekly writings. Where is that journal now? On my bookcase with three partially filled in pages. Sad. Very sad. So I will try from here on out to keep this blog up-to-date. But now the cat is out of the bag 🙂

Now, on to the fun stuff…pictures!

I had the honor of photography the “B” family a couple of months ago. We hung out outside for a bit and then went inside, where Little Miss B truly showed her personality. You can see she already has a knack for being in front of the camera. The “B” family was truly a pleasure to work with and just hang out with at their house. I admit I could have stayed all day and just play around! Here are a few more pictures from the session.Brown Family - The Vintage Cupcake Photography, Denver, CO Family Photographer

What to Wear - Spring - Denver, Colorado Portrait Photographer

· March 12, 2011 · 4:57 am · What to Wear

Spring is right around the corner, and personally I can’t wait for it arrive. It’s like a fresh start where everything comes back life and colors are in bloom again. Okay, spring needs to come NOW!  I am tired of the drab winter colors. Out with the old and in with new. And new it is! The fashion colors for spring this year are stunning. In fact I am loving the colors with splashes of rosettes, vintage jewelry and glamorous styles. I think the trendy name for this is old hollywood glam!

I know how hard it can be to coordinate an outfit for me to wear, let alone my whole family. Thankfully, there are people out there that understand this and have taken their time to coordinate outfits that work for all budgets. Below is outfits fitted for the whole family by Old Navy.

What do you think? The color palette is pretty neutral in colors i.e. nothing to flashy or crazy. Not loving the colors? No problem, you can use this picture to design your own personal look and style; which of course is the most important when you are getting your pictures taken 🙂

Personally, I really like Down East – www.downeastbasics.com . They are affordable, unique and stylish. Staying with the purple theme above, I love the look of this dress.

I hope to have more what to wear posts up soon, to help you coordinate for spring and summer looks.

xoxo

~ Welcome ~

I'm Angela and I love what I do.

I play many different roles in my life, but boring is not one of them. I'm silly, quarky, completly honest and try to live life to it's fullest. I put my heart and soul into photography and take great pride in my work and making sure my clients leave with beautiful works of art they can cherish forever.

I love natural light photography and love working outdoors, however, I have a dedicated studio with professional grade lighting, props and decors specifically for newborns and young children. I adore creating art with color and light. Client galleries are a variety of work tailored to their preferences and edited to my style.

This was just a little bit about me. I can't wait to meet you and I hope that viewing my work will bring each of you as many smiles as it has brought to me!

xoxo ~ Angela
